Bending Space

Bending Space was originally written for a collaboration with robot choreographer Margo Apos-tolos and computer animation expert Richard Weinberg. Points in space were used in the choreography and the compositional process from both a macro- and micro-perspective, much as we may view stars either as individual points of light, or an overall wash of shimmering night sky. The music largely uses drones to suggest this expansiveness, where different harmonics which are included in the just tun-ing system are resonated, as in a tuba at the beginning and the ending litany.
